arielOṁ was born Ariel Pedroso in Havana, Cuba.
From an early age, and thanks to the musical tradition and sensitivity in his family—especially his grandmother, composer Mercedes Pedroso—Ariel studied classical music in specialized schools under the guidance of prestigious teachers. His training included subjects such as Music Appreciation, Voice and Choir, Music Theory, Solfège, and Piano.
At the same time, Ariel was part of the pioneering group in Cuba that brought passion to the musical world through the introduction of computer technology. This led him to collaborate with renowned musicians like Juan Blanco and Silvio Rodríguez.
Among other cultural projects and musical groups, he was part of a traditional Cuban music band that toured Catalonia, where he eventually became a Spanish citizen and embarked on a new musical journey. This path took him to Asia, from Nepal to India, where he immersed himself in the culture, musical language, and colors of that part of the world. Believing that all music shares a common source, he set out to blend and harmonize these experiences and sounds with those of his childhood, including classical music, Latin rhythms, and jazz. These experiences shaped his work, which aims to build bridges between cultures, sounds, and emotions.
For arielOṁ, music and poetry are inseparable. His words explore the mysteries of silence, while his music gives voice to the ineffable. From the United States, he continues writing and composing with a clear purpose: to create sincere and human art that transcends artificial boundaries and connects with the universal.
His musical influences include Pat Metheny, James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, and John Williams. In writing, he draws inspiration from authors like García Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Eugenio Montale, and Fernando Pessoa.
